Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL or POWERGRID), a Navratna conglomeration and the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India, is going to recruit 53 Engineer Trainees from Electrical branch on the basis of GATE 2020 score.

A candidate should have a full time B.E./ B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) degree in Electrical/Electrical (Power)/Electrical and Electronics/Power Systems Engineering/Power Engineering (Electrical) from any recognized university/ institute with minimum 70% or equivalent CGPA. Final year / semester students, who expect their final results to be released by 14 August, 2020 are also eligible to apply, provided they have obtained 70% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to pre-final examination. In case they are selected, their candidature shall be subject to their securing minimum 70% marks in the essential qualification.
Candidates interested in joining this Navratna PSU have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2020, i.e. Electrical Engineering (EE). Only those candidates who qualify the corresponding paper of GATE 2020 will be considered for the next rounds of selection procedure i.e. Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
To apply for this recruitment drive, interested candidates have to register themselves online at the official website of POWERGRID with details of their GATE 2020 registration number and other required information. The last date of submitting online application is 20 February, 2020. A candidate is required to login to the candidate login section, and then deposit the non-refundable application fees of Rs. 500/- through online mode. The application process will be treated as complete only on submission of the application fees.
The selected candidates are likely to be inducted in POWERGRID offices, sub-stations, construction sites spread all across the country. According to the official Power Grid notification, only GATE 2020 score will be considered for this hiring drive. GATE score of 2019 or prior is not valid for this recruitment drive.
