A candidate should have a full time B.E./ B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) degree in Electrical/Electrical (Power)/Electrical and Electronics/Power Systems Engineering/Power Engineering (Electrical) from any recognized university/ institute with minimum 70% or equivalent CGPA. Candidates interested in joining this Navratna PSU have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2019, i.e. Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), and Electronics Engineering (EC). Only those candidates who qualify the corresponding paper of GATE 2019 will be considered for the next round of selection procedure i.e. Group Discussion or Personal Interview. The qualifying marks in GATE 2019 will be decided by the conducting authority of GATE 2019. GATE score of 2018 or prior or GATE 2020 is not valid for this recruitment drive by Power Grid.
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), which is also known as Vizag Steel, has announced its plan to recruit 188 Management Trainees (Technical) from Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Electronics, Ceramics, Chemical, Metallurgy, and Mining Engineering branches without taking into consideration GATE score.
A majority of Management Trainees i.e. 832 management trainees would be hired from Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Mining engineering streams. The details are given as below:

The recruitment process of Management Trainees will include a Computer-based Test of three hours followed by certificate verification, and Personal Interview. This hiring drive was much awaited by engineering graduates from the above-mentioned branches. CIL has announced this hiring plan after a gap of three years. So, the competition is going to be intense as lakhs of engineering graduates are going to compete in the recruitment process of CIL.
To shortlist suitable candidates, CIL would be conducting two computer-based online tests (CBT) – CBT Paper-I and CBT-Paper-II in the month of February, 2020 followed by personal interview after verifying the documents of candidates.
