POSOCO to Recruit Executive Trainees through GATE 2020

Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) has announced its recruitment plan for the post of Executive Trainees (ETs) in the Electrical (EE) and Computer Science (CS) disciplines on the basis of GATE 2020 scores. POSOCO is a Government of India Enterprise that comes under the Ministry of Power. The prime objective of this enterprise is to manage the nation’s power system operations.

POSOCO will start inviting online applications from eligible candidates any time after the declaration of GATE 2020 results on 16 March, 2020.

Eligibility

AS per the official POSOCO recruitment notification, engineering students from Electrical (EE) and Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) disciplines with a minimum of 65% marks or equivalent CGPA can apply for this post. Final year/semester students from these engineering streams can also apply for this post, provided their results are announced by 14 August, 2020, and they have obtained 65% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to the pre-final examination. Also, all the interested candidates should possess a valid GATE 2020 score. Students holding GATE 2019 score or prior are not eligible for this recruitment drive. The upper age limit for this post is 28 years as on 31 July, 2020.

Selection Process

The selection process that POSOCO is going to adopt for this recruitment drive includes considering the marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2020, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. Only GATE 2020 qualified candidates will be considered for the next rounds of selection.

For calculation of final score of a candidate for empanelment, the weightages of marks obtained in GATE 2020, Group Discussion and Interview shall be as indicated below:

Total 100%

All the selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 and other allowances, and benefits as applicable, during the one-year training period. All the successful candidates are required to sign a service agreement bond for at least three years before going for training.

Indian Oil to Recruit Officers/Engineers on Basis of GATE 2020 Score

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), which is India’s leading oil and gas supplying company, has announced its plan to recruit Officers/Engineers on the basis of GATE 2020 scores. IndianOil, which has been empowered with the status of a Maharatna PSU, is going to recruit Officers/Engineers through this recruitment drive.

The young graduate engineers will be recruited from Civil (CE), Electrical (EE), Mechanical (ME), and Chemical (CH) streams. IndianOil will start accepting online applications for this recruitment drive after 03 January, 2020, the date on which GATE 2020 conducting body – IIT Delhi – will make the GATE 2020 Admit Cards available for download by all students who have applied for GATE 2020.

As per the official IndianOil notification, the Maharatna company will shortlist candidates for Group Discussion, Group Task, and Personal Interview on the basis of their GATE 2020 scores. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has announced its plan to recruit Graduate Trainees (E-1 level) in the Engineering and Geo-Sciences disciplines on the basis of GATE 2020 scores. ONGC is one of India’s most prominent Maharatna PSU companies.

AS per the official ONGC notification, the compensatory package at E-1 level in terms of cost to company (CTC) comes to around Rs. 20.06 Lacs .

Engineering graduates who wish to apply for the vacant posts under this recruitment drive of ONGC should be GATE 2020 qualified. GATE 2020 would be conducted by IIT Delhi on 1, 2, and 8, 9 February, 2020. The result of GATE 2020 is scheduled to be announced on 16 March, 2020.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is planning direct recruitment of Junior Telecom Officers (JTOs) from Civil and Electrical engineering streams. This recruitment drive is meant specially for SC, ST, and OBC candidates. The eligibility criteria would be valid GATE 2019 score. The candidates who have written the GATE 2019, and wish to apply for the post can submit their online application by visiting the official website of BSNL.

Interested candidates can start applying online from 11 February, 2019. The last date for online application is 12 March, 2019.

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited, which is a Maharatna Public Sector Unit (PSU) and one of the country’s largest power companies, has announced its recruitment plan for inducting 207 Engineering Executive Trainees on the basis of GATE 2019 scores. The young graduate engineering executive trainees will be recruited from Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Mining streams.
