The Engineering Services Examination (ESE/IES) is one of the most sought after engineering exam for the engineering graduates across India. The ESE exam is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the recruitment of Indian Engineering Servants in the capacity of Class – 1 officer.

The recruited officers administer a large segment of the public sector economy, which constitutes of Central Engineering Service, Central Power Engineering Service , Telecommunications, Central Water engineering, Indian Defence Service of Engineer, Border Roads Engineering Service, etc. The nature of work performed by these bureaucrats largely depends on their engineering branch and the service or cadre they are recruited in.

  2. Mechanical Engineering (ME)
  3. Electrical Engineering (EE)
  4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (E&T)
