Vacancy Details for SSC-Junior Engineer Exam 2019 Announced

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the vacancy details for its ongoing recruitment drive of Junior Engineers (JE). The online registration process for SSC-JE Exam 2019 begun on 01 February, 2019, and the last date for online application is 25 February, 2019.

As per the official SSC-JE notification, the commission will be hiring a total of 1,627 junior engineers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying and Contract trades through this recruitment drive. All the posts will come under Group B (Non-Gazetted), in Level- 6 (Rs. 35,400-1,12,400/-) of pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission.

Of all the announced vacancies, a major portion (1,313) of Junior Engineers will be recruited from the Civil Engineering stream. The remaining 314 vacancies will be distributed among other posts.

The SSC-JE 2019 examination will be conducted in two phases – Paper I (Computer-Based Examination) will have 200 marks questions and Paper II (Descriptive Type Examination) will have 300 marks question. As per the official SSC-JE notification, the Computer-Based Test for Paper I will be held in September, 2019, and the descriptive type exam for Paper II will be conducted on 29 December, 2019.

To apply for SSC-JE 2019 examination, interested candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in engineering. The SSC-JE 2019 recruitment notification was released in January, and it became the first major recruitment drive by a Central Government agency that will be carrying the reservation benefits for recently announced 10% quota for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the General category.

Candidates, who are interested and eligible, can submit their online application through the official website of SSC.
