COVID-19 Lockdown: UPSC Postpones Civil Services (Prelims) Exams, 2020

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the Civil Services Preliminary Examinations, 2020 ‘until further notice’.  The UPSC Civil Services (Prelims) Exams were scheduled to be held on 31 May, 2020. However, keeping in mind nation-wide lockdown because of COVID-19, the Commission reviewed the current situation on 4 May, 2020, and decided that it will be impossible to resume examinations and interviews for the present.

As the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination also serves as the screening test for the UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination, the schedule for the Indian Forest Service Examination too has been deferred till further notice.

UPSC will review the situation again on 20 May, 2020, and on the basis of the then situation, the Commission will release the fresh dates for these examinations on the official website of UPSC. As per the official UPSC notification, the new dates of Civil Services (Prelims) Exam and Indian Forest Service Examination will be decided keeping in mind that the Civil Services aspirants get at least 30 days before the exams.
