Exam Dates for GATE 2020 Announced by IIT Delhi

It is official now that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2020 (GATE 2020) will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi). The examination dates for GATE 2020 are 01 February, 02 February, 08 February and 09 February. The tentative timings of the exam will be 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The announcement has been made on the official webpage of IIT Delhi for GATE 2020.

GATE 2020 will be conducted for 25 subjects across India in test centres spread in different cities, as well as, in six cities abroad. As earlier GATE exams, GATE 2020 too would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT). Engineering students, who wish to begin their engineering career through Public Sector Undertaking companies (PSUs) or pursue higher studies in engineering, technology, architecture or other branches of science will be taking the GATE 2020.

As per the official IIT Delhi notification, the GATE 2020 result would be announced on 16 March 2020. The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website will open on 3 September 2019 and the closing date for submission of (online) application (through website) is 24 September 2019. The extended closing date for submission of application through GOAPS website is 1 October 2019.

The last date for requesting a change of examination centre is 15 November 2019 after making a payment of reasonable amount. The GATE 2020 Admit Card will be available on 3 January 2020 on the GOAPS website.

How to score good in GATE
The syllabus of GATE is very detailed. Therefore, to crack the exam, one needs to put serious effort and follow a dedicated time schedule. A GATE aspiring candidate has to give his best, along with a lot of patience and energy to cope up with pressure of exam.

GATE is a computer-based test that is to be written by candidates on an online platform in three hours. The GATE question paper comprises of 65 questions which are a mix of multiple choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer type questions (NAQs). A virtual calculator is being used by students writing GATE to perform mathematical calculations. In addition to subject paper, GATE also includes General Aptitude paper. The objective of General Aptitude paper is to test a candidate’s aptitude and understanding of general mathematical concepts as well as reasoning and logical aptitude.
