Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has announced its recruitment drive for hiring Assistant Engineers (Civil and Mechanical Engineering) in the Water Resources & Sanitation and the Road Construction departments. The State Commission will be recruiting 637 Assistant Engineers through this recruitment, 542 from Civil engineering stream and 95 from Mechanical stream.
The online application process starts on 15 October, 2019 and will go on till 11 November, 2019.
The branch-wise break-up of the 637 vacancies is as under:
- Road Construction Department (Civil): 228 Posts
- Water Resources Department (Civil): 288 Posts
- Drinking Water & Sanitation Department (Civil): 26 Posts
- Water Resources Department (Mechanical): 84 Posts
- Drinking Water & Sanitation Department (Mechanical): 11 Posts
Candidates with a B.Tech or equivalent in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from any AICTE approved Institute are eligible to apply for the examination by paying an application fee of Rs. 800/- (General/OBC/EWS category) or Rs. 150 (SC/ST category). The eligible age limit for this recruitment drive is minimum of 21 years and maximum of 35 years as on 1 August, 2019.
The selection procedure includes Preliminary exam, Mains exam, and Interview. The Preliminary exam includes two papers, General Knowledge and Technical Ability, with 100 multiple choice questions in each paper. The General Knowledge paper will be of 100 marks, whereas Technical Ability paper will be of 200 marks. The Mains exam will consist of two sections – Section I (Objective – 600 marks) and Section II (Conventional – 400 marks). The candidates who qualify the Mains exam will have to appear in the Personality Test (Interview) which carries 200 marks.
